Our aim is to make your stay at Pottery Cottage an enjoyable and memorable holiday experience. As you will see from the other pages of this site our holiday cottage is well situated and beautifully renovated to provide you with the perfect base for a holiday in Whitby.
The cottage is fully self catering accommodation and you will find some ideas here for eating out or shopping for provisions.
Whitby is wonderfully supplied with high quality and locally sourced food. Bakers, butchers, fish mongers and green grocers can all be found within a few minutes walk of the cottage. Just outside Blackburns Yard is the old Market Place which features a weekly Farmer's Market where you will find cheese stalls, organic vegetables and much more. Three supermarkets are also available for provisions.
The town is fast becoming a culinary destination in the North of England, with a host of restaurants available to suit all tastes.
On your 'doorstep', Church Street has several old pubs, all brimming with character and full of vivid life in the evenings.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
The cottage is centrally heated and also has a coal effect fire in the lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, washing machine, microwave etc. as well as a range of cooking utensils, china and glassware.
Children are most welcome at any age.
Unfortunately, because of the shared nature of Blackburns Yard's community garden, it is not possible to accept pets.
Pottery Cottage is a no smoking zone.
There is no parking available in Church Street, though access to the bottom of Blackburns yard for loading/unloading is permitted. The nearest Pay and Display car park is a two minute walk away.
The cottage will be available for guests from 2.00pm on the day of arrival. In order that we can maintain Pottery Cottage to a high standard we ask guests to leave promptly by 10.00am on the morning of departure.
Let us know if there is anything we can do to ensure your stay is a happy one.
